Beaches of St Martin

This past week I have continued my quest to see all 34 beaches here in Saint-Martin/St Maarten. We are staying on the Dutch side of the island on Simpson bay and outside of this beach most of the beaches we have visited so far have been on the French side. Each one offers something different.

Baie Rouge was a nice fine. A lovely beach where we spent the good part of the afternoon. There are 2 restaurants on the beach there Gus's & Raymond's. Both cook up good BBQ food, drinks, & chairs to rent. Watching Gus direct the kids who get you the chairs was very entertaining. We had a good lunch at Gus's and so far his is the best rum punch on the island.

We did a little snorkeling not much to see under the water but around the Rocky cliff there is a little deserted cove & Rocky arch that was worth the swim.

Looking for lunch we found Baie Nettle and a wonderful restaurant Ma ti Beach. Fantastic French cuisine right on the beach. So good may have to go back for dinner.

Another of my favorites is Happy Bay. It was a short hike (10 minutes) from Friar's Bay with beautiful views along the way. At the end of the trail there is a beautiful cove of white sand beach that most days you have all to yourself.

Time to stop writing as I still have 27 more beaches to find.
