What are everyone’s plans to say goodbye to 2011 and ring in 2012?

 For me this afternoon is going to be spent at Citizens Bank Park for the Flyers/Rangers alumni winter classic game. I have been a Flyers fan for as long as I can remember so a chance to go watch some of the players that have made this team great over the years is very exciting.  I am looking forward to seeing Bernie Parent back in net one more time. The LCB line will be skating together again.  Eric Lindros is back for a day wearing Orange & Black, along with John LeClair. One of my favorite players, Rick Tocchet will be playing.  It should be a fun day in Philly.

Sloths

 Last night on Animal Planet the show was "Too Cute! Baby Sloths". It was filmed at the  Aviaros del Caribe Sloth Sanctuary in Cahuita Costa Rica.
 It really was too cute and got me wanting to be back in Costa Rica watching the sloths. When we were there in 2006 we got to see many 3 toed sloths. One afternoon in Manuel Antonio National Park we got to watch a sloth make its way down a tree to go to the bathroom. Sloths only go to the bathroom once a week so its a big event for them. They are also extremely slow moving, the whole process took about an hour. It was amazing to be that close and watch.

Happy Thanksgiving to All

Last night we got to talking about all the different places we have been for Thanksgiving. It was fun to try to remember where we were and who we shared dinner with. Unlike most families we have no real traditions we follow at Thanksgiving other than spending it together. For many years the Thanksgiving break meant no school for a week which for us meant travel. It has changed a bit the last couple of years as things like work, girl/boy friends, college, & other obligations keep us at home. No matter where we are for the holiday we still are lucky to spend it together along with our friends & family, for this I am thankful.
 I hope everyone's holiday is full with love, laughter, and good times.

Black friday shopping Jamaican style

Black Friday is just a 2 days away is everyone ready? 
I never really understood the whole Black Friday shopping until the year my son took a job at Circuit City. He had not gotten his license yet so I had to drive him to work at 3:00am. When we pulled into the lot I couldn’t believe the amount of people waiting in line for the store to open at 4:00am.  There must have been at least 50 people there. I felt I was missing out on something big so I went home woke the hubby and out we went to get all the Christmas shopping done while everything was on sale. What I found out that year is that I am not a black Friday shopper. I do not like spending hundreds of dollars before the sun comes up nor do I like to get out of bed that early unless I am getting on a plane to fly someplace.

Saving the Polar Bears

Since my trip to Churchill a few weeks ago I have still been keeping track of whats going on there. It seems that winter has finally come to Churchill giving it the Arctic feel it should have. Temperatures are below freezing with wind chills of -25F. Hopefully within the next two weeks if temperatures hold the Hudson Bay will freeze enabling the bears to go hunt.  The cold temperatures are getting the bears very active and these out on the Tundra are seeing a lot of bears.

Our last day - Dreams Resort Los Cabos

It's hard to believe yesterday I was waking up to the sound of the waves crashing along the beach and today it's back to reality. I missed my breakfast on the balcony.



Our group really enjoyed our stay at Dreams resorts. The staff here was wonderful. Thank you all for making our trip a wonderful. 

Fishing Cabo

A few years back at the Atlantic City Boat show we meet John & Ryan the owners of Redrum sport fishing. We fished with them 4 years ago and were very happy. This trip to Cabo we fished with them for 4 days. They are a good company to go with and would use them again. I highly recommend them. The last day of fishing Pat & George got a Strip Marlin, Dorado, and said it was one of the best fishing days they ever had.

Sunset Cruise

 As many of you know I love watching the sunset, what better way to see it here in Cabo but on a sunset cruise. I worked out getting a 52ft. Catamaran, the Cabo Blue for just our group. It was a great time.

The spa is wonderful way to relax with the jacuzzi, sauna,steam room, & many different types of spa treatments.

Today it's 86 & sunny. Just had breakfast on the balcony while over looking the beach. I am really getting way to used to this. It is only going to get better from here as next having a couples massage at the Spa here at Dreams. I am really getting spoiled. George needs one after fishing for the last 4 days in a row.

Dreams Resorts Los Cabos

Everyone is having a great time here at Dreams Resorts Los Cabos. It's always music to my ears when people in my group say how wonderful a time they are having, good choice in resorts, rooms are great, & when can we do this again.
After last year staying at Secrets Capri in the Riviera Maya & having such a wonderful experience I pick Dreams for our Cabo trip. I am so happy I did.

  One of the things I enjoy is taking everyone down town Cabo. Our first stop was the Marina. Wow has that changed over the years.

We got an added surprise yesterday the Sea Turtle's eggs hatched and the turtles were ready to be released.

 

 The turtles release is done to improve the survival rate of the sea turtles. When the turtles make their nests the eggs are moved to a place on the beach where they can be protected. Once hatched they are taken close to the sea at sunrise or sunset to help make the journey to the sea easier for them. 

We named them. I named mine Jerry

The Spa Secrets Marquis Los Cabos Resort

 There is nothing like pampering yourself with a massage or other spa treatments while on vacation. After seeing the spa at the Secrets Marquis Los Cabos Resort a girlfriend & I went for a 50 minute reflexology massage. After horseback riding, long walks on the beach, & my bar tour this was just what my body needed. It was total relaxation I could hear the waves while be massaged, it was wonderful.
The atmosphere is very relaxing & tranquil. There are hot tubs overlooking the Sea of Cortes, steam rooms, cold pool, & treatment rooms.

Secrets Marquis Los Cabos

Yesterday I got the privilege of not only getting a tour of the new Secrets Marquis here in Los Cabos but having breakfast with Ella Messerli, the General Manager. The resort is stunning. Its no wonder it is one of The Leading Hotels of the World. As you arrive you are greeted by a spectacular view of the Sea of Cortes.
The lobby is open air, & designed with an arch representing the arch at lands end . As we walked around the resort seeing the different room types, restaurants, spa, & other areas the thing that struck me was every place in the resort had an ocean view.

Holy Crap!!

Last night we had a very interesting experience one I have to share. The resort had Monday night football all set up on a big screen right on the beach. It was a great way to watch a game under the stars, hearing the waves in the background, waiter service,food, lounge chairs, & Philly fans in the house. To bad our beloved Eagles couldn't pull it out for us again last night. Okay don't want to get started there. One of our group got lucky and had the score for both the 1st half & the 2nd half getting a sunset cruise for two & snorkeling trip. Way to go Susanna!

Dreams Los Cabos Resort.

The sun is just starting to set & I am sitting on my balcony after a wonderful day on the beach drinking some champagne. It doesn't get much better than that. Yesterday I was waking up in LBI & today waking to the thunder of the waves of the pacific. Since yesterday was such a long travel day bedtime came early which that meant up early 3:30am. The upside it was a beautiful sun rise.

After breakfast I went horseback riding along the beach. What fun that.
