Travel day

Traveling on a Sunday morning so far has been a pleasure. No traffic, no lines at the airport, and zipped through security. Now we are sitting in usair lounge enjoying a cup of coffee in a mug. Sun is actually out so there should be no delays with the flight.
Mexico here we come.

Secrets Capri & Zoetry Parasio de la Bonita

Oprah said on her show the other day that a Travel Agent was rated one of the most happiest professions. I have to agree with her on that. I love my job and I am always happy doing it. Beside helping people plan there dreams I also get to do my fair share of traveling. I get to go to new resorts to check things out. This is what I have planned for the upcoming week. We are going to Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita in the Riviera Maya for a week.
The weather forecast has snow on its way which could be another big storm. For these of you who are in the northeast they are calling it ground hog day. That has George crazy thinking he may miss out on our trip.
We are doing something we have never done before making a last minute change to leave tomorrow. Now instead of seeing just one resort I am going to get to stay at Secrets Capri Resort and Spa in the Riviera Maya for 3 nights prior to Zoetry. Now this is the way to beat winter.
I believe I will have Internet while away and will be posting about each of the resorts.

Snow Snow and more Snow

Well I think our total was 18 inches and more snow on the way. As beautiful as all this is I am dreaming of  sunny skies, warm weather and my toes in the sand. Hopefully this next snow storm will not cause a delay in my coming trip.

Big Snow Storm

An update on the big snow storm. We got 7 inches and the roads were clear by 9:30am. Last night we had fun drinking wine and playing cards, now its back to the diet. That being said tonight I made a wonderful stir fry with lots of vegetables, shrimp, and chicken. It was really delicious and very low in calories.
450 Calories for this whole plate.

Snow Storms

I am sitting here drinking my coffee watching the news. They are at local grocery stores interviewing people about shopping before a snow storm. We are due to get 4 - 7 inches over the night so tomorrow morning chances are good schools will be closed and things will move slowly. So why does that put people in a panic they need to stock up the house for the next two weeks? Why does the thought of snow falling make us have a desire for milk, eggs, and bread? I suppose one reason would be you make a big breakfast during a snow storm. Is this true? How many people out there make a big breakfast to use up all these eggs? They just interviewed a guy buying 5 loaves of bread. Really. How many people is he feeding? That's one big breakfast or a lot of grilled cheeses. What do you eat during a snowstorm that is so different than any other day?
I know for us its a reason to party. We get the fire going, open up a bottle of wine, and watch a movie or play some cards. Eggs, milk, and bread just don't go to good with wine and beer but hey each his own.
So tell me do you run to the store if snow is coming?

Mummers Parade

I can now cross another thing off the bucket list, the Mummer’s Parade. We were there bright and early New Years day, not as early as some, to see this wonderful event that only happens in Philadelphia. I had gotten us grand stand seating by the judges so we could watch each of the performances. The grand stands were packed by the time we go there but plenty of space to stand and see. I think they way over sell the area but it still is the best place if you really want to see the performances by each club. The parade was great, the crowd was fun, and the city did a wonderful job. The whole experience was a good one. I highly recommend everyone go see this at least once in their lives if you can.
Happy New Year to all.
