Disney Fairy Tale Wedding

Yesterday 2 billion people watched the Royal Wedding of William and Kate. I too got up early to watch the elegant event. After it was over I decided to watch another Fairytale wedding that I was a part of a few years ago.  It been a long time since I watched the video and  forgot how amazing it really all was.

This Fairy tale wedding was my sisters and my role become one of Maid of Honor, Travel agent, and wedding Coordinator. It was a big job but I did have the help from the incredible people at Disney who really do make all your dreams come true. It also helped we had a very generous budget from our Father.

Ambergris Caye, Belize

Just a little about Ambergris Caye, Belize.

Ambergris Caye, Belize is a 15 minute flight from Belize city. The flight is a really beautiful as you get to fly over the reefs.

The first stop when you arrive is Willy's Bar for Belize national drink
Belikin Beer. It's on the dock next to the water taxi, which is the best form of transportation to get around from one place to another.

Good Friday in Ambergris Caye, Belize

We often travel during the Easter break. A few years back we were vacationing in Ambergris Caye, Belize on Good Friday. Good Friday is a religious holiday observed primarily by Christians all over the world.  On this trip I learned one of traditions of those living here in Belize.

On Good Friday most business are closed and there is no serving of any alcohol until after sundown. I heard a mass was being held in town at 2:00pm followed by a procession  re-enacting the death of Jesus Christ, and then a celebration. We were staying at Journey’s End which was just outside of town.  There are a couple of ways to get to town, by foot, bike, golf cart, or the fastest water taxi.  Today I choose the water taxi. Some of the waitress from the hotel were going to mass and I asked to join them.

Tim Reynolds & TR3 Havana in New Hope

Once again Havana in New Hope gave us a night of great music!

The last time we were there I saw that Tim Reynolds & TR3 were coming I knew my nephew is a big Dave Mathews fan as well as me & figured why not go. I will be honest I have never really listen to Tim before or know anything about his band other than him playing with DMB.  I really had no idea what to expect from the show but I love this venue. Havana is a great place to see live music as you feel like you are having a concert in your home.

Flyers Fan

Today is the start of one of my favorite times of the year Playoff hockey. Yes I know it official started last night but the Flyer’s take the ice tonight so for me it’s today.  It is time to break out all the orange & black from my closet and get ready for some great hockey.  I love how the whole town is a buzz with Flyers talk.  Houses get decorated with flyers flags, statues, and anything else people can think of to show their support of our beloved team.  Driving though south Philly this time of year almost every home has a Flyers tribute displayed in their front windows. Guys support their teams by not shaving for weeks.Got to love it all.

Golf Vacations

The Master’s is in full swing with some great pairings set for today.  It got me thinking about all the wonderful places you can go for golf vacations. Whether your dream is to play St. Andrews in Scotland, or a few rounds overlooking the ocean in the Caribbean there is a golf vacations for everyone.

Here are some of my picks for a great golf vacations.

One of the best islands for golf is Bermuda.  This tiny island has nine amazing courses and is ranked on the Top 100 List by Golf Digest.  The best time for a golf vacation in Bermuda is November to March. The weather is a bit cooler no less than 65 degrees, plus the hotel rates are considerably cheaper.  Many of the resorts here offer golf packages.  Bermuda offers golfers a chance to play the year round and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the island at the same time.

Flying the Concorde

After this week’s #TNI on twitter I have gotten a couple of emails about our experience on the Concorde so I thought instead of emailing each of you I will post it here for all to read. First some of you may be wondering just what is #TNI. It is short for Travelers Night In (#TNI) a chat on Twitter every Thursday at 3:30pm. It is about travel with a different topic each week and  hosted by www.zipsetgo.com.  It’s fun so check it out.
This week’s topic was Reckless Abandon. The question that was asked and the reason for this blog was largest financial risk you’ve taken in your travels?
