Norman Island, BVI

Our next anchor was Norman Island. Its a good spot for snorkeling. We snorkeled the caves and saw lots of different types of fish. A buried treasure was found in one years ago and it's said there is still more to be found.

Life on board the Rhapsody

The Rhapsody is a 72ft sailing yacht & our home for the next week. The captain of the Rhapsody is Don.  He is an easy going guy yet takes the responsibilities seriously. He is a fantastic captain.
Captain Don

Heather is the first mate/ chief who amazed us daily with her flair for flavors serving us delicious meals.
Heather

One of the first things you leave behind as you climb on board is your shoes. For me, barefoot for a week is my kind of vacation. Next is a tour & picking of state rooms. There is one large master with king bed & 2 smaller cabins with queens beds, all with bathrooms.
The salon is very large with a table to seat 8, sofa, desk, & bar. There is plenty of space. We felt comfortable & at home right away.

White Bay, Jost Van Dyke

Jost Van Dyke or as the locals say "jus" is hands down one of my favorite islands. There is no much here but that's the beauty of it.  White Bay is a palm tree lined white sand beach with clear turquoise water and a few beach bars severing up all the islands favorites. What more do you need?

Drinking mans guide to the BVI

For the next week we are going to take this fun guide and go exploring the BVI aboard the yacht the Rhapsody. Our trip started yesterday in west end Tortola, sopers hole. Our first stop was Pusser's Marina Cay for Pusser's  Painkiller. Pusser's rum is a blend of five rums.

Pusser's painkiller
2 shots Pusser's rum
2 ounces orange juice
2 ounces pineapple juice
2 ounces coconut cream
Mix all together in a blender. Pour over ice garnish with nutmeg & a cherry

A perfect start to the trip.  Our captain Don & chef Heather meet us there & then took us to the Rhapsody. What a beauty she is. We are going to have a great week.

Counting down the hours to my first painkiller

It is freezing here today high 21 and its only getting colder as the week goes on. Thankfully my bag is packed and I am off to sail around the BVI on the Rhapsody. We have been here a few times and just love everything about the British Virgin Islands. I can't wait to be on the beach at the soggy dollar having a painkiller.
