The first of 3 Furthur shows at Red Rocks Amphitheather, Morrison CO

One of the places I have always wanted to go see a concert would Red Rocks amphitheater.  It is on the bucket list if you will even thought I really don't have one or not formally written.  A few months back when I first heard Furthur was doing 4 shows here we decided it was time to make the trip. The tickets were not easy to get, 4 night pass sold out in seconds, I got Friday night, mail ordered for Sunday, & got a pass word for a local pre ordered from Catfish Tyler trough twitter for Saturday night.

We got into Golden Thursday and actually got to hear the first set from a live stream from someone at the show. Modern tech is so great. Friday morning we drove to the park to get a lay of the land and to hike the trails all around the park. Once again the scenery is just amazing.  We took a trail that was 1.4 miles of amazing views.

We then went into the amphitheater to get some pictures before dark. First let me just say the hike from the parking lot to the gate is something in itself.

Once in there it's a climb to your seats. I was amazed at how many people use the theater to work out. There is even a morning boot camp. The hike up was enough for me today I knew I would be doing it later tonight.

The tailgate before the show was fun. So much to see. We got talking to the people who parked next to us and the one woman was from my same town, same school district, in fact our kids graduated together. The car next to them the couple also was from our county. It certainly is a small world.

As the sun set over the mountain it was getting closer to show time. We sat for a while with a glass of wine watching as everyone started the climb to the amphitheater just taking it all in.

Once inside you just look around at all the beauty.

As Furthur took the stage the moon rose from behind them. At one point we could see fireworks off in the distance.

It's moments like these you just take it all in and think how great is this! Red Rocks, full moon, fireworks, and Furthur playing. Great night #1

Great Show!! Can't wait for another one tomorrow.
