Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

What are everyone’s plans to say goodbye to 2011 and ring in 2012?

For me this afternoon is going to be spent at Citizens Bank Park for the Flyers/Rangers alumni winter classic game. I have been a Flyers fan for as long as I can remember so a chance to go watch some of the players that have made this team great over the years is very exciting.  I am looking forward to seeing Bernie Parent back in net one more time. The LCB line will be skating together again.  Eric Lindros is back for a day wearing Orange & Black, along with John LeClair. One of my favorite players, Rick Tocchet will be playing.  It should be a fun day in Philly.

There are lots of events going on in Philadelphia for the New Year if you are looking to do something. The alumni game is just the start. There will be fireworks in the City at both 6:00pm and midnight at Penn’s landing.  There is a Jeremy Roenick party at McFadden’s at Citizens Bank tonight from 9:00pm – 2am. The NHL is hosting a party at the electric factory with Joan Jett.

New Year’s Day the mummer’s will be parading down Board Street and it looks like a great day for that with temperatures in the 50’s.

The Eagles are playing the Redskins at the Linc.
Monday is the Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park, Flyers / Rangers.

Whatever you do to host in the New Year I hope everyone has a wonderful time and 2012 is a great one for all.

Cheers!
