Exploring the Bat Cave, #BocasdelToro

When first thinking about going into a bat cave where the water can be up to your neck I was not too sure how I was going to like this but what a cool thing to do.  Suyi who works here at Eclypse de Mar told us her father could take us to the cave. Papa pick us up at 10:00am and off we went to the bat cave.

It was an nice peaceful trip down to the far end of Bastimentos and through the mangroves to the spot where we got out to hike to the cave.

They provided us with head lights and off we went into the dark cave.

The only light is from the head lights without them its totally dark.

Once in side you can hear all the bats talking and flying around.

Yes they fly right past your head.

The cave is narrow, rocky, and filled with water the deeper you go into the cave.

Today the water only got to our waists.

I was surprised I was not really all that scared even with them flying right past us.

Below is a baby bat

It was a very cool thing to do.
