Caoo Cave excursion in Punta Cana

One of the activities that is included when you stay at Zoetry Agua a excursion to Caoo Cave.
You get picked up right at the resort & it is only for people staying at Zoetry. No long ride picking up other folks from other resorts with this excursion. The day we went there were 3 other couple which was perfect.

Willis was our tour guide and he is extremely knowledgeable in the history & people of the island.
First we are taken to a area to get a glimpse of how many people live in Dominican Republic.

We walk around the gardens where we learn about some of the vegetation of the island. He also demonstrates how the dry, cook, and ground both the coffee bean & the coco bean.

The best part is getting to simple the fresh chocolate. We also got to simple some coffee, hot chocolate, fresh cut fruits, & the island drink Mama Juana. Mama Juana is a drink they make here which is rum, red wine, honey soaked in a bottle with tree bark and herbs. It is said to be an aphrodisiac.

From there we go down into the caves. There were a few bats flying around but they have no interest in any of us.

The end of the trip we get a short demonstration of how the Taino people once lived.

It's a nice excursion with just the right amount of time, 3 hours total.
