White Bay, Jost Van Dyke

Jost Van Dyke or as the locals say "jus" is hands down one of my favorite islands. There is no much here but that's the beauty of it.  White Bay is a palm tree lined white sand beach with clear turquoise water and a few beach bars severing up all the islands favorites. What more do you need?

White bay was our anchor for the day.  Once ashore Gertrude's had a beach calling my name along with a painkiller.  I think the painkillers here could be the best, they handed George the bottle of rum to make our own.

After 2 of these a sometime floating around the water we went back to the boat for lunch, spicy shrimp, rice, & side salad.

White bay is the home of the famous Soggy Dollar bar where the drink the painkiller was invented. No trip here would be complete without having one, along with a game of ring toss. Eileen beat me by 2 points.

The Rasta man came by selling Caribbean lobsters, $5.00 a pound. How could you pass this up?

Heather made us the most delicious dinner, surf & turf with garlic butter, butternut squashes, & salad.

Just on the other side of the mountain from White Bay is Great Harbour. It's a small town with a grocery store, church, school, few restaurants/ bars, Foxy's, & where we anchored for the night. Foxy's is known for its parties & that was exactly what I wanted to do.  No live band, Dean Foxy's son was the DJ & we got to do some dancing. The drink  here is a Sly Fox. Not sure what it was made of but I wasn't a huge fan.

Before setting sail in the morning we took a stroll through town making a few beverage stops.

Corsairs is another fun place to have a beverage & limin (Chill). Their motto is
"sobriety is not our priority."
