There’s a restaurant in Beach Haven call the Chicken or the Egg or as the locals like to call it the Chegg. One of the things it’s known for are their wings. They offer wings in all flavors from mild, honey BBQ right on up to Ludicrous hot. The kids here have been bragging for the last couple of years how they can eat these crazy hot wings. They even told us if you go to the restaurant and eat 12 ludicrous wings you get a free tee shirt. I like a good challenge and we talked about it for a while. We heard Adam Richman of the Travel Channel series “Man V. Food” was taking the Ludicrous Wing Challenge. He was going to the Chicken or the Egg in attempted to eat 12 ludicrous wings in 15 minutes. It was time for us to have ours. I went to the Chegg to find out if in fact there was a contest or a free tee shirt and was told no, so we ordered out and took the challenge at home.
Our Challenge: 24 jumbo breaded wings cover in Ludicrous hot sauce
No Time Limit/no rules - who ever can eat the most wins

George tasted one before the contest started and that was it for him.
Tom who talked the most about the wings bailed out not even tasting one. He told us he dips his French fries in the beesting sauce, whimp.
Pat the wing to his mouth and that was the end for him.
June was able to get one wing down before eating as much blue cheese dressing as she could get her hands on.
Mike he was also a big talker how he can eat them. He was able to eat two wings before he throw in the towel.
The contest came down to Kevin & me. We both were two wings in and the tears were just running from our eyes. On the 3rd wing my fingers and lips were feeling somewhat numb from the burn.
We both eat our 4th wing at which point Kevin’s lips were on fire and hurt so bad he called it quits.
That meant one more wing for me for the win. It wasn’t pretty as I rubbed my lips with blue cheese to stop the burn before eating that final wing to end this ludicrous contest. I finished my final wing with tears running down my cheeks.
I can honestly say I will never eat another ludicrous again. But there are plenty of other great wings on the menu to choose from.
After our challenge we watched Adam Richman of Man V. Food do it. He wore gloves while eating the wings. He pulled the meat and sauce off with gloves than ate them. The wings never touched his lips. Some say that was cheating. He did eat all 12 to my 5 in 15 minutes.
Adam is the 4th person to complete the challenge. It’s not an easy one, so give it a shot and let us know how you fair against the Ludicrous Wing Challenge!
