The Plantation in Harvey Cedars

Have you ever been told by a hostess if you don’t like the table we are giving you than don’t eat here?
This is what happened to us when we arrived at the Plantation in Harvey Cedars last night for our reservation.  The Plantation is a restaurant we really enjoy going to and have been going for the last 7 years, but last night might have been our last visit.

We called ahead to make a reservation and requested a table in the downstairs area. There is an upstairs which we have eaten there once but really don’t enjoy it there. The person who took the reservation did say they could not guarantee a certain table but also said it shouldn’t be a problem as they were not busy. When we arrived we checked in &  were told that the only tables available were upstairs or we could eat at the bar. There were 3 empty tables downstairs. I told the hostess about the phone conversation and was told that it couldn’t have been right as they have 178 people booked that night. We asked about the tables downstairs and were told they are for 5 people we were only 4 and if we didn’t like it we could eat someplace else.  Now we were not being rude we just were inquiring about our options and the fact of the miss information we received. But after the hostess comment of eating elsewhere, guess what we did just that.

Sorry to say The Plantation in Harvey Cedars is now off the list of places to go due to a rude hostess. We ended up going to Raimondo’s in Ship Bottom and had a fabulous meal. Our server Tyler was very nice and not problem getting a last minute reservation.
