The Gables, Beach Haven NJ

Tucked away on a side street in Beach haven, NJ you will find The Gables. This beautifully resorted Victorian is both an Inn & restaurant. We have passed by it on the street many times admiring the beautiful flowers leading up to the porch, which also looks so elegant but last night  was the first time we dined there. We went with friends and it was a true dining experience from start to finish.  We sat out on the porch which is so pretty with the white linens, candles, and flowers. Inside was lovely as well.

Their dinner menu boasts á la carte options and a prix fixe tasting menu. We went with some sections from the á la carte menu.  We started off with a few appetizers to share, calamari, imported burrata mozzarella with prosciutto served with grilled Tuscan bread, and little lump crab cakes with apple & fennel slaw topped with a ginger & lime vinaigrette. It was all delicious.  We also tried their butternut squash soup which was excellent. For dinner I had the Viking Village Scallops seared and served over asparagus, lemon, & artichoke risotto. It was very good.  We did not have dessert but the menu looked fabulous, next time.
The restaurant is BYO, and they do have Sunday brunch on the porch as well as afternoon tea.
Whatever the occasion The Gables is the right place.
