As much as I like the Bristol Buenadventura because of its beautiful surroundings there are many things I find here that not up to par.
Before I go into the negatives let me first talk about some of little extras.
When we got back to our room from the beach on the first night there was a bottle of Chandon Champagne & some chocolate pastries waiting. That's was a very nice surprise.
They valet park your car and when they brought it to us to go out for the day there was 2 cold bottles of water in it for us.
Breakfast is a buffet but there is no standing at the omelet station, you order & they bring it to you.
Our room is wonderful but the housekeeping is not. They don't change the sheets. It's not a big deal & maybe it's something they don't do here but I have never stayed in a place that doesn't change them unless stated.
They also do not take away empty glasses or wine buckets. As nice as the champagne was it was in our room empty for he next 3 nights until I ask to remove it.
The service for dinner has been good for the last 2 nights but tonight it all went downhill.
There were only 4 other tables but instead of great service they all seemed to take a night off.
They gave me the wrong meal which wasn't the end of the world, I just switched with George who liked it. We asked for bread during our dinner. Other nights it came out with salad. We finally got it long after we finished but no butter. I suppose I should be thankful no extra calories.
We had wanted another glass of wine with dinner but no one around. Instead we went to the martini & sushi bar to sit outside for an after dinner drink. No one came. We waited, they knew we were there only 2 other tables yet no one bother to come. We finally left. We had enjoyed great Martini's there before dinner other nights & the sushi is very good.
I have enjoyed so much that the resort offers but many things need to be worked out still to bring it to the 6 star rating it is getting.
We did learn that it is now becoming a JW Marriott. Perhaps they will correct some of this. It will now be JW Marriott Panama Golf & Beach Resort.
