Sunrise

Today I was up very early for some reason but it was well worth watching the sunrise over the ocean. It was just beautiful an the weather today is going to be 82.
Yesterday we started our day with a long walk on the beach. We pretty much do that everyday. The beaches here in the Riviera Maya are perfect for it.
We spent the rest of the morning on the beach relaxing. At noon it was time to move as this was our real travel day. But before I get to the next part of the trip I want to add a few more things about secrets.
Our time there was wonderful. They do a great job, service is very friendly, food & drinks good, entertainment great we will be back.
Thank you Secrets for a wonderful stay.

Greetings from Secrets Carpi

I know a lot of you are freezing dealing with ice, snow, & rain i feel for you all. The best thing we did was to get here early. George told me yesterday it was the best day he has had all winter & i have to agree.
There are a few things I want to add about the resort that I didn't mention before. For anyone that may not know this resort is adult only & all inclusive. Everything I mentioned is included. We have been to many all inclusive over the years and this is certainly one of the best we have been to. They do a lot of things right. One of the things we found at many of the ones we have been to in the past is what to do at night. We have not had that problem here.  Every night they have entertainment in different venues. Last night they had a fire show poolside which was wonderful. After that there was a comedy show in the bar. Live jazz music in the main lobby. Plus a couple of different bars open until at least 11. If that's not enough they will take you into Playa del Carmen to dance the night away at Coco Bongo.  Tonight is Caribbean night with a buffet by the beach complete with Caribbean music followed by a Caribbean show. I really like how they move the buffet and entertainment around giving you a completely different feel along with the theme.

Another thing I would like to mention is the spa here excellent. It is also a great place for weddings and perfect for honeymoons.
If anyone wants any other information on this or ant other resorts please email me and I will be happy to help. Jills@wingsgt.com.

Any of you who have been here before or to Riviera Maya I would love for you to share your experiences.

Secrets Capri

      Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun
We have been here at Secrets Capri now for a little over 24 hours and it is just wonderful. Our travel day was very easy when we arrived check in was quick and we got upgraded to a pool view Jr. Suite which you can see the ocean from the balcony The rooms are very nice and a good size 427sq ft. We have a four poster king bed, sitting area, a large marble bathroom, and a very nice balcony.

    Beach
The resort has a beautiful white sand beach dotted with palm trees. The beach is the length of the resort with plenty of places to sit in the sun or shade. The beach is also wonderful for long walks as you can go at least a mile either direction from the hotel. Secrets beach is by far the best of any of the resorts in this area. Waiter service is available on the beach but the bar is just a short walk away.

   Pool
The pool is in the center of the resort and very large. Its divided in the middle which I found interesting, as one side is heated and the other is not. The swim up bar is on the heated side. The have plenty of floating loungers to relax and soak up the sun.

  Activities
Each night room keeping puts the Sundial in your room with the next days activities, entertainment, weather, news, and announcements.
There is plenty to keep you busy if you want to from yoga on the beach, bingo poolside, volley ball, dance lessons, Spanish lessons, water aerobics, and so much more. Besides these activities there are plenty of water sports available, kayaks,  boogie board, snorkeling, catamarans, sailboats, windsurfing, and more. There really is something for everyone. I have just been enjoying swimming in the crystal clear water and soaking up the sun so far but have lots of time.

 Restaurants
There are 6 restaurants to choose from and specialty nights. We will not have the time to try all of them but so far we have enjoyed the ones we did.
For breakfast there is buffet with everything you would want including lots of Mexican items. I love the spicy sauces on my eggs in the morning. By the beach there is a ala carte restaurant open as well. Coffee and danish is available as well in many spots around the resort. If breakfast in bed is more your speed there is 24 hour room service.
For lunch there is an indoor buffet which i am sure is wonderful but I prefer eating by the beach. Seaside grill has lunch and at night becomes the steak house with inside and balcony dinning. Cactus club off the beach is where we liked.
They also come around the pool & beach with carts fruit, sandwiches, and today burgers.
Late afternoon there is tea and goodies.
Last night we had dinner at Oceana restaurant which is their seafood one. I had lobster salad, seafood soup, and grilled shrimp & scallops. It was all good. Another option last night was the chef choice buffet server by the pool. It looked good with lots to choose from. We went for dessert which was yummy. Tonight we are going to try the Himitsu  pan-asian. Tommorrow Portofino italian.

  Bars
Again the are plenty of places to get drink to sit and relax around the resort. They also give you a mini bar in your room that is stocked daily. The house wine here is some of the best we ever had at an all inclusive. They also have top shelf liquors. Last night we had gray goose martinis

Overall this is a wonderful resort and we are enjoying every minute.
More to come.
