Hiking Pipline Road Soberania National Park

One of the things we were looking forward to doing while here was some hiking. Soberania National Park Rainforest is the place to see both birds & mammals & has a few trails to hike. One of which is pipeline road. Gamboa resort provided us with a transportation to pipeline road. The driver asked what time for pick up? It was 7:00am, 4 hours seemed about right we told him 11:00am, no problem see you then.
Our first sighing of the day were 3 toucans. We hiked for about 1 1/2 hours hearing the howlers but only seeing a few fairly far away.

For those who know me it's all about the monkeys and the Howlers are my favorite. The road is not loop. We were about to turn around when I saw a howler laying in the tree ahead. More were making their way from one side of the road to the other right above us. The really cool thing it was the first time we heard them communicating to each other instead of just howling. They gave us a good half an hour show. We only left because we needed time to get back to be picked up.
We got back to the entrance 20 till 11:00am. We waited & waited no one came. We started to hear the same chattering that we heard earlier with the other group of Howlers and sure enough there they were. This time a few babies with their mothers. 2 of the babies were tiny so guessing they were just born.

It was worth being stuck there to see the howlers but now it was noon still no driver, & no other signs of life. The walk back is a couple of miles & now we were tried, hot, & out of water.
Finally a guy drove up to do some filming and happened to be staying at our resort, he drove us back. It was now 1pm & we never passed anyone coming to get us. We were forgotten.
We needed to nap like the howlers.
