One of the things I love to do when in another country or an island is go to the local grocery store. I find it fun to look at what they sell & the prices. In most local stores you find all sorts of unusual stuff to buy.
It also is a gathering place for many people so you get to interact with the locals.
We went to 2 places in Rio Hato and got 8 bottles of water & 3 bottles of wine $18.90.
The locals are very friendly. You smile they smile right back. As we drove down the streets they even waved. You don't find that in the north east.
