Nature Inn at Bald Eagle State Park

I have enjoyed my morning coffee in some pretty spectacular places over the years and this morning  I am lucky to be doing it again. I am sitting on my balcony, listening to the song birds, looking out at the lake as the sun raises from behind the mountain and the Bald Eagle just took flight from its nest.  This is the way to start a morning.

Where can you find this wonderful spot?  Right in my own State, Pennsylvania at Nature Inn located right in Bald Eagle State Park.  A few months back I picked up a travel guide for Pennsylvania and found this wonderful place.

Nature Inn is a very unique B&B located within Bald Eagle State Park. For years the only way to overnight in the park was if you camped. Now you can have all the fun of camping combined with all the comforters of home.

The Woodpecker room

We are staying in one of their larger suites, which has a bedroom and a separate living room with a kitchenette along with a balcony overlooking the lake.
We are traveling with other couples so it's been nice to have the living room space to gather.

The Inn has plenty of comfortable common areas as well to gather to relax, eat, play games, or just sit enjoying the views.

The dark spot on the right of the tree trunk is one of the Eaglets

Right across the lake from the Inn a pair of Bald Eagles have their nest. The pair has been nesting here for years and this year have 2 Eaglets. There are several scopes at the Inn for viewing plus each room has a pair of binoculars along with a bird book.
Surround the Inn & throughout the park there are 14 different hiking trails. We enjoyed the butterfly trail which takes you to frog pond.  There we got to see 2 green Egrets.

We meet Bob, a volunteer,  who comes every day to the park at 2:00 to watch the Bald Eagles and  share his knowledge of them with you.

Each morning the Inn serves a delicious breakfast which is included with your stay.  They do not have a restaurant but there is a grill for another one to use. We went into town to eat but next trip will definitely bring food to grill.
At the end of the day there is a fire pit where everyone gathers to enjoy the campfire, talk about the days adventures, and of course toast marshmallows for s'mores.

Nature Inn is a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it for anyone. I have already booked my stay here for the fall.
