What makes it one of my favorites is the color of the water that surrounds the island, the fresh lobster, the snorkeling, the simplicity of the island.
The sail takes about 3 hours and its a good time to catch up on reading, writing, sleeping, or just letting you mind clear looking out over the ocean.
The island is completely flats, as you approach it all you can see is the tops of trees.
Once there we took a cab over to Loblolly Bay for some snorkeling and lunch at the Big Bamboo. I remember years ago coming here and having the best lobster I have ever tasted. I think it is just being able to sit outside along the beach, eating in your bathing suit, no shoes, and being served fresh lobster that makes it taste so good.
They have it all figured out you order, go for a swim or snorkel and when you return lunch is ready. How great is that no sitting around waiting.
2 for 1 Bamboo Teaser was a nice drink to start things off as well.
The reef around the island is very large and the snorkeling is always good.
This was the second of the 2 large Barracuda's we saw.
It was a wonderful afternoon spent at loblolly. While watching the sunset over cocktails on board were were got to see the pink flamingos flying over the island.
The sunset was one of the prettiest so far this week.
In keeping with our tradition of Anegada we went ashore for dinner at the Anegada Reef Hotel where they had tables set up in the sand right at the waters edge.
We asked Geoff and Bambi to join us which made for a really fun night.
Dining under the stars, candle lit table, toes in the sand (yes no shoes), the sound of the surf, and fresh lobster it was a meal to remember. Yes I had lobster for both lunch and dinner.
