Our stay at Villa Tucan is over but not our stay here is Puerto Viejo. We have just moved to the other side of town to the Banana Azul. It's located right on the beach giving us a completely different feel from living in the jungle. Upon arrival we got our welcome drink and off to the beach we went. It's a black sand beach full of tiny pink & purple shells. We have lounge chair & waiter service it feels like a vacation within a vacation.

Our first night we are in the howler suite overlooking the ocean. Unfortunately it was not available the whole time so after the first night we moved to a ocean view room. The place is very comfortable.
The grounds surrounding the hotel is very lush.

In the mornings coffee is served on the beach. A great way to start a day, relaxing watching the sun come up followed by a nice long walk along the beach.
Breakfast is included in your stay, which is made to order and has been great. The staff here are very friendly and do a great job. Lunch & dinner is served as well and the menu has some great choices. We had dinner here one of the nights and it was very good.
